How do I use the help panel?

If you would like to add a link to the Nolan Meats website please use the logo and description on this page.

Can I change the way the Nolan Meats website looks on my screen?

Different computers have different screen setups. Your computer is likely to be set to one of three resolutions - 640x480 pixels, 800x600 pixels or 1024x768 pixels (where the numbers represent the width and height of your screen). Pixels are the little dots that combine to form the characters and graphics you see on the screen.

This website will look very big on the 640x480 resolution and will scroll, sit comfortably on 800x600 (the most common resolution) and look quite condensed on 1024x768 (the newest screen resolution).

         To change your settings:
1.  Go to "Control Panel" and select "Display"
2.  Select the "Settings" tab
3.  Change the "Desktop area" setting to "800 x 600" (if available)
4.  From the "Color palette" menu, select "High Color" (or "True Color" if available)

The number of colours displayed on your monitor will also affect the quality of the images displayed in a website. The colour palette should read a minimum of 256 colours, but it is preferable to select High Colour (16 bit) or True Colour (24 bit).

Which browser do I have?

The elements of a webpage may vary in appearance depending on the Browser you use and whether you use a Mac or PC.

You can check which Internet Browser you have by selecting Help on the top menu of your brower. There will will usually be the option "About ....(your Browser)". The first screen which comes up will display which Browser and version you are using.

You can also upgrade your browser for free by going to the Netscape or Microsoft websites and downloading the latest version. Often there is a special area called Downloads where the latest Browsers and other programs are available.

What is a PDF?

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. There are many advantages to using PDFs including:
· Files can be viewed within a web browser in their original form and with original formatting.
· Complete documents can be downloaded and printed at high resolution.
· Files can be magnified up to 800% to allow easy reading.
You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDFs. This is available for download from www.adobe.com
